Samahat Al-Allameh Al-SayyedSalih Al-Hakeem , the president of Hikmeh Center for Dialogue and Cooperation has participated at the activities of the third day of global week for harmony among religions that is sponsored by United Nations Mission to help Iraq ( UNAMI) and the organization of education, culture and sciences in United Nations ( UNICO), by cooperation with Baghdad University .
The conference has held on the Edreesy hall at the college of Art, Baghdad University , the subject was” the role of Media and the youth and civil society organizations for facing the extremism and violence ” , the minister of higher education and clerics and academic personalities and representatives of organizations and youth and representatives of the presidency of ministers and representatives council have participated at this conference .
Samahat Al-SayyedSalih Al-Hakeem has gave an opening speech focused that almighty Allah sent his messengers and books to guide human beings by evidences to prevent them from falling in dispute , while extremism and violence are the results of narrow and political interests , the extremism was not the result of today nor the region in which we live , but it is from long time and it is in the West as it is in the East , the religions are innocent from it , except wrong reading for religious texts .
His eminence expressed that tackling the extremism is based first on looking into the curriculum that is established by well-known thinkers in the Middle East , and they are the basis of the extremism in the modern era , these curricula are also distributed in the West , second to activate the dialogue and accept the other with save privacies .
It has mentioned that this participation of Samahat Al-SayyedSalih Al-Hakeem is the second one in the activities of global week for harmony among religions , for promoting the role of United Nations in Iraq and its efforts for spreading dialogue and harmony culture among religions .
