Hikma center, in cooperation with Foreign Organizations, holds a Conference entitled ” social inclusion and Reconciliation: Two Pillars for Building a Better Future in Iraq”

Hikma Center for Dialogue and Cooperation held a conference with the Peace Research Institute Oslo and the Study of Islam and the Middle East Center in Washington the seventh dialogue conference in Beirut with the participation of a group of Iraqi clerics and intellectuals representing the Iraqi components as well as figures from Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom and Switzerland for the period 28-30 June 2017.
The meeting included seven sessions in which serious papers were presented to address the inclusion and reconciliation among the components of the Iraqi society. It dealt with various topics including constitution, judiciary and intellectual dialogue. The total number of participants was 20, They are: His eminence Sayyed Salih Al-Hakim the president of the center, Father Albert Hisham the representative of the Chaldean Church – Baghdad, Dr. Khalid Al-Mu’ini The Director of Dijla Center for Strategic Studies, Mrs. Amal Kabbashi The Coordinator of the Iraqi Women’s Network, Dr. Ali Al-Yaqobi The Dean of Imam Kadhim College, Dr. Sadiq Al-Jumaili The Dean of Imam Al-Azam College, Dr. Ibtisam Al-Madani the Dean of The Faculty of Basic Education, Professor Saeb Khidir adviser in the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, Mr. Fadi Shammari a leader in the Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Dr. Jalal Kubaisi, The head of the Shura of Anbar Scholars Association, Sheikh Muslim al-Rubaie the director of Stratigiya Center for strategic studies Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Irwani The Director of the Islamic Studies and the Middle East Center, Rev. Trond Baekevig, Pastor of the Lutheran Church in Norway, Professor Gregory Rieberg A Professor and Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo, Mr. Oliver James Ternan, Director and Co-Founder of the Future Thinking Organization, Mr. Sven Rieder Sfej Ambassador and former Norwegian Foreign Ministry Officer, Mr. Lorenz Ferndier from the Foreign Ministry of Switzerland, Mr. Miti Hatay from the Peace Research Institute in Cyprus, Dr. Robert DeStro, researcher and professor at the Catholic University in Washington, Ms. Stephanie Lantier, analyst at the Swiss Embassy in Amman.
The conference concluded by agreeing that the participants will provide a set of recommendations that could be applied on the ground to achieve a genuine community reconciliation among the Iraqi people.
